This week we park the Medium Wave Fun Bus round the corner to meet Bette Davis & The Balconettes who very kindly tell us all about their glittering showbiz career, and let us rifle through their record collection.

We also discover how not to pacify an 'excitable' Leeds audience at a Primal Scream gig, and once again find out what happened on this day in New Wave and Disco.

Plus the uppers, downers and just hanging arounders in the Medium Wave Hit Parade which this week features: Prefuse 73, The Syndicats, Earth Roots and Water, Japancakes, Jaqueline Taieb, This Heat, Debruit, Crystal Stilts, Malakai, The Depreciation Guild, Myron & E with the Soul Investigators and The O Jays.

Its a Thomas Dolby special of sorts (by accident rather than design). We also find time to board the Medium Wave Fun-Bus and head to the pub for an interview the Mind on Fire Collective, we discuss Chas out of Chas n' Dave's contribution to the canon of Hip-Hop, and ponder what (surely 138 year old) Clive Dunn is up to these days. In fact there are so many guitar tunes its almost a ROCK-cast this week. Maybe its because that whole 'Wonky Beats' thing is sooooo last week. We also dip into our Peoples Postbag, we pose the age-old question "Malt or Malteser" and ponder whether its worth £200 to watch a re-enactment of Astral Weeks. Plus top pop hits from:
Yann Kesz, The Fall, M Ward, Pendle Covern, Capital 1212/Donald D, The Tides, Sparks, Blackbeard, Luke Vibert, Sore Eros, John Cooper Clarke (twice), C.O.D, Kraftwerk and a Carly Simon track without Carly Simon on it.

We're joined by our very own Steve Wright 'Posse'; Dom, Phil and a Pink Pony with surprisingly forthright musical opinions. 'Around the World' visits China where music comes in the form of little plastic boxes, DJ Rules sneaks in not one but TWO nu-folk records using trickery and sleight of hand, our Yorkshire correspondent joins us for a special 'Charity Challenge' and we go to the pub in the middle of the show (with predictable results). Somehow we still found time to play tracks by Paul Murphy, Jedi Knights, Trap Door, Onra, The Hearts, James Pants, Daru & Reggie B, Microdisney, Lukey Demus, Broadcast, Tunng, John Cale and Cody Chestnutt.
